(No.RA018)1-27SECTION 3DISASSEMBLY3.1 Precautions for Waterproof• Do not remove the black sheet from the reverse side of thetransceiver (refer to the illustration below). Removal of thissheet decreases the waterproof efficiency of the transceiverand may cause malfunctions if water seeps into the transceiv-er.• The orange packing material on the reverse side of the trans-ceiver is important with respect to the waterproof efficiency ofthe transceiver. Do not place stickers or other materials on oraround the packing material shown in the figure, or on the re-verse side of the battery pack. Doing so will impair the water-proof efficiency of the transceiver and may cause it to breakdown. Additionally, in order to prevent damage to the packingmaterial, do not allow it to come in contact with foreign materi-als.3.2 Precautions for Disassembly3.2.1 Removing the selector knob and volume knob(1) Using a thin tool, insert it in the hole on the selector knobside and push the knob spring. <1>Note:When you push the knob spring, take care not to dam-age the resin of the knob.(2) Lift and remove the selector knob <2> while pushing theknob spring.(3) Repeat steps 1 and 2 for the volume knob, to remove thevolume knob <3>.Note:Perform the following procedures when installing the se-lector knob and volume knob.a) Match the direction for the hole of the knob and theknob spring.b) Push the knob onto the knob spring until a clicksounds.3.2.2 Removing the selector knob spring and volume knobspring(1) Lightly grasp the left and right sides of the selector knobspring together, and lift up as shown in the figure. <1>Note:Do not grasp the knob spring tightly.(2) Remove the selector knob spring <2>.Note:Use minimal contact with your fingers on the knobspring.(3) Repeat steps 1 and 2 for the volume knob spring, to re-move the volume knob spring <3>.Note:Perform the following procedures when installing the se-lector knob spring and volume knob spring.a) Match the direction for the knob spring and the en-coder.b) Insert the encoder onto the knob spring until a clicksounds.3.2.3 How to remove the flat cable(1) Gently rise up the connector lever in the direction of the ar-row with a flat-head screwdriver or tweezers.
