4-6-4. _Autopatch Operations (U-S.A. version only)Some repeaters offer a service known as autopatch. Thisfeature allows you to dial a telephone number from yourtransceiver and carry out a telephone conversion,muchlike a car telephone, or cellular telephone. This functionrequires the use of a DTMF (Dual Tone MultiFrequency) pad. The MC-45DM optional microphoneprovides the normal keys you would have on yourtelephone at home, in addition to the normal 12 keysthat are found on your telephone as well as 4 additionalkeys, A, B, C and D. These keys are required by somerepeater systems for various control operator of yourrepeater to determine if their use is required. A chart isprovided that lists the various tone frequencies that aregenerated by the keypad. (Fig.1)To activate the keypad:1. Press and hold the PTT switch.2. Press the keys just like you would dial your telephoneat home.3. The transceiver will remain keyed for approximately2 seconds after you press each number, so you canrelease the PTT switch without unkeying thetransceiver.NOTESome repeaters will require the use of a special keysequence to activate the autopatch function.
