These examples may notrepresent applications useful to you, but you willunderstand the flexibility of this function.Situation: You share your transceiver with othermembers in your family or club. However, each individualhas personal preferences for how they like to set variousfunctions. You have to keep changing many settings eachtime you use the transceiver.Solution: Because 5 PM channels are available, up to 5persons can separately program the transceiver and storetheir customized environment. Then each person canquickly change to his or her favorite settings, simply byrecalling a PM channel. It is too much trouble to changeback the settings after somebody else has reconfiguredthem. So this application may avoid having a feature-richtransceiver but never using many useful features.Situation: While operating mobile on the way to workevery morning, you prefer a silent transceiver that doesnot interrupt the morning calm. In addition, you feel thata bright display is useless in the sunlight. At night whendriving home, you realize the Beep function truly doesserve a purpose and you acknowledge it is nice to see abright display after dark.Solution: In 2 PM channels, store the same operatingdata such as frequency, offset, tone, etc, and storedifferent settings for the Display brightness and Beepfunctions. Then you can quickly recall the best settings forday or night operation.Situation: You cannot figure out how to exit the currenttransceiver mode.Solution: Simply recall PM channel 1, which contains anexact copy of the transceiver default environment. Youwill not lose the contents of any memory channels.
