92.3 Making the AC Input ConnectionsBefore making any connections to the TPSD ensure that the AC Power is off at the main breaker box and thatboth of the unit’s breakers are off. Check that the source voltage and frequency matches the voltage andfrequency listed on the charger nameplate. For units with transformer taps, verify that the tap has been set tothe correct AC input. (See Section 2.2.1 for instructions on changing the transformer tap). Select wire size, using the table below, based on an overload current of 110-115% of the input current listed on the chargernameplate.BREAKER\FUSESIZE(AMPS)WIRE SIZEREQUIREMENTFOR CUSTOMERCONNECTIONEQUIPMENTGROUNDINGCONDUCTORMINIMUM1 #14 #143 #14 #144 #14 #145 #14 #146 #14 #1410 #14 #1415 #12 #1220 #12 #1225 #10 #1230 #10 #1035 #8 #1040 #8 #1045 #8 #1050 #8 #1060 #6 #1070 #6 #880 #4 #890 #4 #8100 #4 #8110 #2 #6125 #2 #6130 #2 #6140 #1 #6150 #1 #6Table 6 - Wire Size Minimum RequirementsNOTE: These are recommended sizes. All National and Local Wiring Codes must be followedAC Connection ProcedureFirst connect an adequate earth ground lead (use table above for sizing) to the terminal marked “GROUND” or“GND”. Run the input AC wiring to terminals marked L1 and L2 or L3 on the terminal block TB1 inside the unit(for units with transformer taps use the table on page 8 for input connections). To make these connections, strip the insulation about 0.5 inches (13 mm) and install the lugs on the incoming wires, then connect the wiresto the appropriate terminals.
