182.9 DNP 3 / Modbus Scada Interface (Option 21P/21Q)The optional DNP 3/ Modbus Scada Interface Communication Card, allows the customer to remotely connect tothe TPSD battery charger. The card is equipped with four methods of communication; DNP 3.0, Modbus ASCII,Modbus RTU and Modbus TCP. There are three different ports for connection to the communication card. Thethree port types for connection are: RS232, RS485 and TCP (Ethernet).Communication Interface ConnectionProcedureBefore making any connections to theTPSD ensure that the AC Power is off atthe main breaker box and that both of theunits’ breakers are off. Choose which portto use for connection. Connect theappropriate cable between the port on thecommunication card and the port on thecomputer. For more details on connection instructions as well as operation instructions refer to the DNP 3.0 & ModbusScada Interface instruction manual included with the TPSD. The DNP 3.0 & Modbus instruction manual is alsoavailable online at http://www.lamarchemfg.com/.2.10 Battery side alarm sensing (Option 565)The optional battery voltage sensing card (S2A-407S) will allow the customer to see the battery voltage evenwhen the unit DC breaker is open. The Low Voltage and End of Discharge alarms are based on the voltage measured on the battery side of theDCB when the option 565 is used. In case of sensing card failure, a special alarm “S2A-407S Failure” and asummary alarms will be triggered. Also, the controller will start using the charger side voltage sensing for LowVoltage and End of Discharge alarms.Figure 14 - DNP 3 / Modbus Communication Card
