• Dolby Digital sound must beavailable on the DVD.• You can adjust Dolby Digital inthe QUICK SETUP menu thatappears when you first pressSETUP twice.With QUICKselected, press ENTER. Press pto select DOLBY DIGITAL.Press ENTER to chooseBITSTREAM or PCM. PressSETUP to exit the menu.• When you play a disc that hascopyright protection,downsampling will be at 48kHz, even if you set DOWNSAMPLING to OFF.Helpful Hints48 Audio Settings● Before you begin, press SELECT to put theTV/DVD in DVD mode.Then, press PLAY B orOPEN/CLOSE A to activate DVD mode.Change Audio settings based on other equipment youconnected to the TV/DVD or according to your disc soundfeatures.These settings only affect the Audio from the DVDplayer of the TV/DVD.3-61-2,72 Press SETUP again.The QUICK SETUP screen will appear.3 Press s or B to select CUSTOM at the top of themenu, then press ENTER.4 Press s or B to select (AUDIO) , then press ENTER.5 Press KK or LL to select DRC, DOWN SAMPLINGor DOLBY DIGITAL, then follow step 6 accordingly.6 ● If you selected DRC, press ENTER repeatedly to turn Dynamic RangeControl (DRC) ON or OFF. Choosing ON compresses the range of volumeby suppressing loud sounds and raising low sounds. DRC is available only ondiscs recorded in the Dolby Digital format.● If you selected DOWN SAMPLING, press ENTER repeatedly to chooseON or OFF. ON sets downsampling to 48 kHz. OFF sets downsampling to96 kHz. DOWN SAMPLING is available only when the unit is connected toa Stereo using the COAXIAL DIGITAL AUDIO OUT jack.● If you selected DOLBY DIGITAL, press ENTER repeatedly to selectBITSTREAM or PCM. Select BITSTREAM if you used the COAXIALDIGITAL AUDIO OUT jack to connect the TV/DVD to a stereo that isDolby Digital compatible. Details are on page 11.
