2-5-1 MK14NAPM_PCALIGNMENT PROCEDURES OF MECHANISMThe following procedures describe how to align theindividual gears and levers that make up the tapeloading/unloading mechanism. Since informationabout the state of the mechanism is provided to theSystem Control Circuit only through the Mode Switch,it is essential that the correct relationship betweenindividual gears and levers be maintained. All alignments are to be performed with themechanism in Eject mode, in the sequence given. Each procedure assumes that all previous procedureshave been completed.IMPORTANT:If any one of these alignments is not performedproperly, even if off by only one tooth, the unit willunload or stop and it may result in damage to themechanical or electrical parts.Alignment points in Eject PositionAlignment 1Loading Arm (SP) and (TU) AssemblyInstall Loading Arm (SP) and (TU) Assembly sothat their triangle marks point to each other asshown in Fig. AL2.Alignment 2Mode GearKeeping the two triangles pointing at each other, install the Loading Arm (SP) Assembly so that thelast tooth of the gear meets the most inside teethof the Mode Gear. See Fig. AL2.Alignment 3Cam Gear (A), Rack AssemblyInstall the Rack Assembly so that the first tooth onthe gear of the Rack Assembly meets the firstgroove on the Cam Gear (A) as shown in Fig. AL3.Alignment 3Alignment 1Alignment 2Top ViewFig. AL1Bottom ViewLoading Arm(TU) AssemblyTriangle MarksLoading Arm(SP) AssemblyMode GearLast ToothAlignment 1Alignment 2Most inside teethof Mode GearFig. AL2Cam Gear (A)First toothFirst grooveon the Cam Gear (A)Alignment 3Top ViewGear on Rack AssemblyFig. AL3
