The kerfboards are factory adjusted so that the saw blade doesnot contact the kerf boards. Before use, adjust the kerfboards as follows:First, remove the battery cartridge. Loosen all the screws(2 each on left and right) securing the kerf boards.Re-tighten them only to the extent that the kerf boardscan still be easily moved by hand. Lower the handle fullyand push in the stopper pin to lock the handle in thelowered position. Loosen two clamp screws whichsecure the slide poles. Pull the carriage toward you fully.Adjust the kerf boards so that the kerf boards just contactthe sides of the blade teeth. Tighten the front screws (donot tighten firmly). Push the carriage toward the guidefence fully and adjust the kerf boards so that the kerfboards just contact the sides of blade teeth. Tighten therear screws (do not tighten firmly).After adjusting the kerf boards, release the stopper pin andraise the handle. Then tighten all the screws securely.NOTICE:• After setting the bevel angle ensure that thekerf boards are adjusted properly. When installing a new blade, always checkthe lower limit position of the blade and if necessary,adjust it as follows:First, remove the battery cartridge. Push the carriagetoward the guide fence fully and lower the handlecompletely. Use the hex wrench to turn the adjusting boltuntil the periphery of the blade extends slightly below thetop surface of the turn base at the point where the frontface of the guide fence meets the top surface of the turnbase.With the battery cartridge removed, rotate the blade byhand while holding the handle all the way down to besure that the blade does not contact any part of the lowerbase. Re-adjust slightly, if necessary.WARNING:• After installing a new blade and with the batterycartridge removed, always be sure that theblade does not contact any part of the lowerbase when the handle is lowered completely.
