1 SPEAKERS: Connect the respective SPEAKER’s FRONT L, FRONT R,CENTER, SURROUND LEFT and SURROUND RIGHT channels to theircorresponding loudspeakers. Make sure the “+” (red) terminal and“ - ” (black) terminal are connected to the corresponding “+” and “ - ”terminals of the loudspeaker. Use extra care to ensure that no straywires or strands cross between posts or terminals at either end.The VISO FIVE is designed to produce optimum sound quality whenconnected to speakers with impedances within its operating range.Please make sure that all the speakers are rated 8 ohms minimum perspeaker.NOTEUse stranded wire of at least 16 gauge (AWG). Connections to theVISO FIVE can be made with banana plugs (US model only) or by usingbare wire or pins. Use the transverse hole through the post for bare-wireor pin connections. By loosening the terminal’s plastic nut, make aclean, neat connection and re-tighten carefully. To minimize the dangerof short-circuit, ensure that only 1/2-inch of exposed wire or pin isemployed when connecting.2 12V TRIGGER OUT: The 12V TRIGGER OUT is used for controllingexternal equipment that is equipped with a 12V trigger input. Thisoutput will be 12V when the VISO FIVE is ON and 0V when the unit iseither OFF or in standby.3 CABLE/SAT & VCR: Connect to these inputs S-Video, compositevideo, and analog audio from source components such as cable TVdecoders, satellite tuners, another DVD player or other applicableancillary devices. VCR may be used with recording components suchas videocassette or DVD-recorders. Connect the VCR OUT (audio/video)to these components’ corresponding audio/video input. Note that VCRmay freely be used for play-only components, in which case their OUTjacks would remain unconnected.4 MONITOR (S-VIDEO, VIDEO): Connect to video input of a monitor/television using quality dual-RCA and/or S-Video cables designed forvideo signals. In general, the S-Video connection is superior and shouldbe used if your TV/monitor provides the corresponding input.5 COMPONENT VIDEO IN, COMPONENT VIDEO OUT: Connect theComponent Video IN to Component Video outputs from compatiblesource components, typically a DVD player and terrestrial or satellite HDTVtuner. Connect Component Video OUT to the Component Video inputof a compatible video monitor/TV. Be sure to observe consistency inconnecting the Y, Cb/Pb, Cr/Pr jacks to the corresponding sources/inputs.6 SCART/RGB OUT (Euro model/PAL only): Connect the VISO FIVE’s“SCART/RGB OUT” to the SCART/RGB video input of a compatiblevideo monitor/TV. Be sure to observe the correct orientation of theSCART/RGB plug. Make sure also to set “Video Output” to “RGB” at the“Disc Video” menu for stable video at SCART/RGB OUT.7 RESET: In the unlikely event that the VISO FIVE becomes inoperable orhangs up, press this button to reset the VISO FIVE.8 RS-232: Connect this interface via RS-232 serial cable (not supplied) to anyWindows® compatible PC to allow remote control of the VISO FIVE throughNAD’s proprietary PC software or other compatible external controllers.NAD is a certified partner of AMX and Crestron and fully supports theseexternal devices.
