4-2 System BIOS and UtilitiesThe Setup UtilityThe Setup utility program allows you to enter systemconfiguration information in the BIOS and control specialfeatures of the system.NOTEWe recommend that you print out or writedown your current setup parameters and store theinformation in a safe place. This lets you restoreyour system to the current parameters if you everneed to replace the battery.When to Use SetupThe Setup utility lets you view and set system parameters.Use the Setup utility program: to set the time and date to update or check system parameters when you add orremove expansion options to change or set power management features to correct a hardware discrepancy when the Power-OnSelf-Test (POST) displays an error message andprompts you to run Setup to check the installation of optional memory bycomparing the amount of memory installed with theamount of memory displayed by Setup to change certain system operating parameters, such asboot device sequence and keyboard parameters to configure system connections for peripherals such asa diskette drive, hard disks, and devices connected to theprinter port and serial ports
