Because word division isrestricted, the messages can be easier to read; how-ever, text messages with word wrap enabled usuallycontain more lines of text and require additionalscrolling.With the word wrap selection set to disabled, textmessages are displayed utilizing each of the 10 char-acter blocks per line. Word breakage is not restricted.Although word breakage may affect readability, themessages with word wrap disabled usually containless lines of text and require less scrolling.Sort OrderThe order for viewing incoming messages can be set usingthe sort order selection. Press M433 ; press1 to view urgent messages first, 2 to view oldestmessages first, or 3 to view new messages first.AudioRing volumeThe ring volume can be set to one of five settings. See “Set-ting Ringer Volume” on page 7.Ring typeThe incoming call ringer alert can be set to one of four set-tings. See “Selecting Ringer Type” on page 7.Escalating alertThe incoming call ringer alert can be set to increase in vol-ume as the phone continues to ring. The initial ring alertsounds at the minimum volume level. As the phone contin-ues to ring, the volume level escalates up to the maximumvolume level. To set the escalating alert selection, pressM443 . Press 2 to turn on escalating alert orpress 1 to turn off escalating alert.
