User’s Manual U16896EJ2V0UD 459CHAPTER 16 I2C BUSTo use the I 2 C bus function, use the P38/SDA0 and P39/SCL0 pins as the serial transmit/receive data I/O pin(SDA0) and the serial clock I/O pin (SCL0), respectively. In the V850ES/KE1+, one channel of I2 C bus is provided. The products with an on-chip I2 C bus are shown below.μPD703302Y, 70F3302Y16.1 FeaturesThe I 2 C0 has the following two modes.• Operation stop mode• I 2 C (Inter IC) bus mode (multimaster supported)(1) Operation stop modeThis mode is used when serial transfers are not performed. It can therefore be used to reduce powerconsumption.(2) I 2 C bus mode (multimaster supported)This mode is used for 8-bit data transfers with several devices via two lines: a serial clock (SCL0) line and aserial data bus (SDA0) line. This mode complies with the I 2 C bus format and the master device can generate “start condition”, “address”,“transfer direction specification”, “data”, and “stop condition” data to the slave device, via the serial data bus.The slave device automatically detects these received state and data by hardware. This function can simplifythe part of application program that controls the I2 C bus.Since the SCL0 and SDA0 pins are used for N-ch open drain outputs, I 2 C0 requires pull-up resistors for theserial clock line and the serial data bus line.
