Note thatthe camera may sometimes release the shutter withoutrecording a photograph, for example when measuring presetwhite balance.• Battery age: A five-level display showing battery age. 0 (k)indicates that battery performance is unimpaired, 4 (l) thatthe battery has reached the end of its charging life and shouldbe replaced. Note that fresh batteries charged at temperaturesunder about 5 °C (41 °F) may show a temporary drop incharging life; the battery age display will however return tonormal once the battery has been recharged at a temperatureof about 20 °C (68 °F) or higher.Selecting Enable release allows the shutter to be released whenno memory card is inserted, although no pictures will berecorded (they will however be displayed in demo mode).
