Messaging43Predictive text input—Predictive textYou can enter any letter with a single key press. Predictivetext input is based on a built-in dictionary to which youcan also add new words. When the dictionary becomes full,the latest added word replaces the oldest.1 To activate predictive textinput, press the edit key,and select Predictive texton. This activates predictivetext input for all editors inthe phone. is shownon the top right of thedisplay when you writetext using predictivetext input.2 To write the desired word, press the keys 2–9. Presseach key only once for one letter. For example, to write“Nokia” when the English dictionary is selected, press 6for N, 6 for o, 5 for k, 4 for i, and 2 for a.The word suggestion changes after each key press.3 When you finish writing the word and it is correct, toconfirm it, scroll right or press 0 to add a space.If the word is not correct, press * repeatedly to view thematching words the dictionary has found one by one; orpress the edit key, and select Predictive text > Matches.If the ? character is shown after the word, the wordyou intended to write is not in the dictionary. To add aword to the dictionary, select Spell, enter the word (upto 32 letters) using traditional text input, and selectOK. The word is added to the dictionary. When thedictionary becomes full, a new word replaces theoldest added word.4 Start writing the next word.To set predictive text input on or off, press # twice quickly.Tips on predictive text inputTo erase a character, press the clear key. Press and hold theclear key to clear more than one character.To change between the different character cases Abc, abc,and ABC, press #.
