Some media files, such as images, music or video clips, areprotected by digital usage rights. The licenses for such filesmay allow or restrict their usage. For example, with somelicenses you may listen to a song only a limited number oftimes. During one playback session you may rewind, fast-forward, or pause the song, but once you stop it, you haveused one of the instances allowed.Use licensesDigital rights management (DRM) protected contentcomes with an associated license that defines your rightsto use the content.If your device has OMA DRM-protected content, to back upboth the license and the content, use the backup featureof Nokia Ovi Suite.Other transfer methods may not transfer the license whichneed to be restored with the content for you to be able tocontinue the use of OMA DRM-protected content after thedevice memory is formatted. You may also need to restorethe license in case the files on your device get corrupted.If your device has WMDRM-protected content, both thelicense and the content will be lost if the device memoryis formatted. You may also lose the license and the contentif the files on your device get corrupted. Losing the licenseor the content may limit your ability to use the samecontent on your device again. For more information,contact your service provider.Some license may be connected to a specific SIM card, andthe protected content can be accessed only if the SIM cardis inserted in the device.To view your licenses by type, select Valid licenses,Invalid licenses, or Not in use.To view the key details, select Options > Licensedetails.The following details are displayed for each media file:• Status — The status is License is valid, Licenseexpired or License not yet valid.• Content sending — Allowed indicates that you cansend the file to another device.• Content in phone — Yes indicates that the file is inthe device and the path of the file is displayed. Noindicates that the related file is not currently in thedevice.To activate a license, in the licenses main view, selectInvalid licenses > Options > Get new license.Establish a network connection at the prompt, and you aredirected to a website where you can purchase rights to themedia.To remove file rights, go to the desired file, and selectOptions > Delete. If there are several rights related tothe same media file, all the rights are deleted.The group license view displays all of the files related to agroup right. If you have downloaded multiple media fileswith the same rights, they are all displayed in this view.You can open the group view from either the valid licensesor invalid licenses tabs.
