Use the instructions provided by yourservice provider to edit the following:• Connection name — Enter a name for the connection.• Data bearer — Select the data connection type.Depending on the data connection you select, only certainsetting fields are available. Fill in all fields marked withMust be defined or with a red *. Other fields can be leftempty, unless your service provider has instructedotherwise.To use a data connection, your service provider mustsupport this feature, and if necessary, activate it for yourSIM card.Create access point groupsSelect Menu > Ctrl. panel > Settings and Connection >Destinations.Some applications allow you to use access point groups toconnect to a network.To avoid selecting which access point to use every timethe device attempts to connect to a network, you cancreate a group that contains various access points, anddefine the order in which the access points are used toconnect to a network.For example, you can add wireless LAN (WLAN) and packetdata access points to an internet access point group anduse the group for browsing the web. If you give the WLANaccess point the higher priority, the device connects to theinternet through a WLAN if available and through a packetdata connection if not.To create a new access point group, select Options >Manage > New destination.To add access points to an access point group, select thegroup and Options > New access point. To copy anexisting access point from another group, select thegroup, scroll to an existing access point, and selectOptions > Organize > Copy to other dest..To change the priority order of access points within agroup, scroll to an access point, and select Options >Organize > Change priority.Packet data access pointsSelect Menu > Ctrl. panel > Settings and Connection >Destinations > Access point, and follow the instructionson the display. Or, open one of the access point groups,and select an access point marked with .Use the instructions provided by your service provider toedit the following:• Access point name — The access point name isprovided by your service provider.• User name — The user name may be needed to makea data connection, and is usually provided by yourservice provider.• Prompt password — If you want to set the device toask for a password every time you log into a server, orif you do not want to save your password in the device,select Yes.• Password — A password may be needed to make adata connection and is usually provided by your serviceprovider. 123 Settings |
