Make callsVoice calls1. In the home screen, enter the phone number, includingthe area code. To remove a number, press thebackspace key.For international calls, press + (+ replaces theinternational access code), and enter the country code,area code (omit the leading zero if necessary), andphone number. The + character as a replacement forthe international access code may not work in allregions. In this case, enter the international accesscode directly.2. To make the call, press the call key.3. To end the call (or to cancel the call attempt), press theend key.Pressing the end key always ends a call, even if anotherapplication is active.To make a call from the contacts list, select Menu >Contacts. Scroll to the desired name, or enter the firstletters or characters of the name in the search field. To callthe contact, press the call key. If you have saved severalnumbers for a contact, select the desired number from thelist, and press the call key.Options during a callTo adjust the volume during a call, use the volume key onthe side of your device. You can also use the scroll key. Ifyou have set the volume to Mute, select Unmute first.To send an image or a video in a multimedia message tothe other participant of the call, select Options > SendMMS (in 3G networks only). You can edit the message andchange the recipient before sending. Press the call key tosend the file to a compatible device (network service).To put an active voice call on hold while answeringanother incoming call, select Options > Hold. To switchbetween the active and the held call, select Options >Swap.To send touch tone strings (for example, a password),select Options > Send touch tones. Enter the touch tonestring or search for it in Contacts. To enter a wait character(w) or a pause character (p), press * repeatedly. To sendthe tone, select OK. You can add touch tones to the phonenumber or touch tone fields in a contact card.Tip: When you have only one active voice call, to putthe call on hold, press the call key. To activate thecall, press the call key again.During an active call, to route the sound from the handsetto the loudspeaker, select Options > Activateloudspeaker. If you have attached a compatible headsetwith Bluetooth connectivity, to route the sound to theheadset, select Options > Activate handsfree. To switch30 Make calls |
