Define a new access pointif needed.• Access point name — You obtain the access pointname from your service provider.• User name — The user name may be needed tomake a data connection, and is usually provided byyour service provider.• Prompt password — If you must enter thepassword every time you log in to a server, or if youdo not want to save your password in the device,select Yes.• Password — A password may be needed to makea data connection and is usually provided by yourservice provider.• Authentication — Select Secure to always sendyour password encrypted or Normal to send yourpassword encrypted when possible.• Homepage — Depending on the access point youare setting up, enter the web address or the addressof the multimedia message centre.• Use access point — Select After confirmation ifyou want the device to ask for confirmation beforethe connection using this access point is created, orAutomatically if you want the device to connect tothe destination using this access pointautomatically.Select Options > Advanced settings and from thefollowing:• Network type — Select the internet protocol typeto transfer data to and from your device. The othersettings depend on the selected network type.• Phone IP address (for IPv4 only) — Enter the IPaddress of your device.• DNS addresses — Enter the IP addresses of theprimary and secondary DNS servers, if required byyour service provider. To obtain these addresses,contact your internet service provider.• Proxy server address — Enter the address of theproxy server.• Proxy port number — Enter the port number ofthe proxy server.61 Connectivity |
