To connect a compatible PC to the home network, onthe PC, you must install the related software. Thesoftware is on the CD-ROM or DVD-ROM supplied withyour device, or you can download it from the devicesupport pages on the Nokia website.Configure settingsTo configure the settings for home network, selectOptions > Settings and from the following:• Access point — To set the device to ask for thehome access point every time you connect to thehome network, select Always ask. To define a newaccess point that is used automatically when youuse the home network, select Create new. If yourhome network does not have WLAN securitysettings activated, a security warning is displayed.You can continue and activate WLAN security later;or cancel defining the access point and first activateWLAN security.• Phone's name — Enter a name for your device thatis displayed to other compatible devices in the homenetwork.• Copy to — Select where to save copied media files.Activate sharing and definecontentSelect Menu > Applications > Home media.Select from the following:• Content sharing — Allow or deny sharing mediafiles with compatible devices. Do not activatecontent sharing before you have configured all theother settings. If you activate content sharing, otherUPnP compatible devices in the home network canview and copy the files you have selected for sharingin Images and video clips, and use playlists you haveselected in Music. If you do not want other devicesto access your files, deactivate content sharing.• Images and video clips — Select media files toshare with other devices, or view the sharing statusof images and videos. To update the content of thefolder, select Options > Refresh content.• Music — Select playlists to share with other devices,or view the sharing status and content of playlists.To update the content of the folder, selectOptions > Refresh content.View and share media filesTo share your media files with other UPnP compatibledevices in the home network, activate content sharing.If content sharing is deactivated in your device, you canstill view and copy the media files stored in anotherhome network device if it is allowed by the otherdevice.Show media files stored in your deviceTo show your images, videos, and sound clips onanother home network device, such as a compatibleTV, do the following:1. In Photos, select an image or a video clip; or inGallery, select a sound clip and Options > Showvia home network.2. Select a compatible device on which the media fileis shown. Images are shown both on the otherhome network device and your device, and videoand sound are played only on the other device. 69 Connectivity |
