An extendednotification may list more detailed information.Web service messagesWeb service messages ( ) are notifications (forexample, news headlines) and may contain a text messageor a link. For availability and subscription, contact yourservice provider.MailboxIf you select Mailbox and have not set up your e-mailaccount, you are prompted to do so. To start creating thee-mail settings with the mailbox guide, select Start. Seealso ‘E-mail’, p. 52.When you create a new mailbox, the name you give to themailbox replaces Mailbox in the Messaging main view.You can have up to six mailboxes.Open the mailboxWhen you open the mailbox, the device asks if you wantto connect to the mailbox (Connect to mailbox?).To connect to your mailbox and retrieve new e-mailheadings or messages, select Yes. When you viewmessages online, you are continuously connected to aremote mailbox using a data connection. See also‘Connection’, p. 108.To view previously retrieved e-mail messages offline, selectNo. When you view e-mail messages offline, your device isnot connected to the remote mailbox.Retrieve e-mail messagesIf you are offline, select Options > Connect to start aconnection to the remote mailbox.Important: Exercise caution when openingmessages. E-mail messages may contain malicioussoftware or otherwise be harmful to your device or PC.1 When you have an open connection to a remotemailbox, select Options > Retrieve e-mail and one ofthe following:New—to retrieve all new e-mail messagesSelected—to retrieve only the e-mail messages thathave been markedAll—to retrieve all messages from the mailboxTo stop retrieving messages, select Cancel.2 After you retrieve the e-mail messages, you cancontinue viewing them online, or select Options > |
