AG 5000208 The Subscriber InterfaceInternal and External Web ServersThe AG 5000 supports both internal and external Web servers which act as a logininterface between subscribers and the solution provider’s network, including theInternet. The internal Web server is “flashed” into the system’s memory and the loginpage is served directly from the AG 5000. In the external Web server model, the AG5000 redirects the subscriber’s login request to an external server. Either method istransparent to the subscriber; however, the advantage of using the internal Web serveris obvious – no login redirection tasks and a faster response time for the subscriber.Language SupportThe AG 5000’s subscriber interface supports many Asian and European languages, including: English, Chinese, French, German, Japanese, and Spanish.Home Page RedirectionThe AG 5000 can be configured to redirect all valid subscribers to a Web portal orhome page determined by the solution provider. After a specified time, from the firsthome page redirection (determined by the system administrator), subscribers areredirected again to the portal at the next Web page request.Subscriber ManagementThe AG 5000 provides several subscriber management models, including: Free access (for example, no AAA functionality) MAC address Port-Location ID (for example, by room or unit number) User name and password Credit cardCombinations of two or more subscriber management models can be used. When asubscriber connects to the network and attempts to access the Internet, the AG 5000looks for each model in the given order above.
