Chapter 3 Internet activity logging 109Using the BayStack Instant Internet Management Software Version 7.11Activating automatic loggingThe Instant Internet Automatic Logging (AutoLog) feature lets you save selectedconnection and user log files from the Instant Internet unit to a disk file atspecified intervals.To use the automatic logging feature, enable the feature at a PC on your LAN. TheAutoLog program must then remain running for the duration of the log. If youclose the task down on the PC that initiated the autolog while autolog is running,the autolog feature stops. This program can run in the background with no effecton the user’s activities.To activate automatic logging:• In Windows 3.x, select the AutoLog icon in the Instant Internet programgroup.• In Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows NT, or Windows 2000, chooseStart > Instant Internet > AutoLog.The AutoLog window opens.The AutoLog toolbar buttons (Table 20) provide shortcut keys to the menu baroptions.Do one of the following:Table 20 AutoLog toolbar buttonsButton DescriptionStarts saving all configured log information. Choose this optionfrom the File menu in the AutoLog window.Stops logging. Choose this option from the File menu in theEvent Information window.Activates online Help. When you click this button, the mousepointer changes to the symbol on the button.
