Saving to a file 61Downloading the reportStandard 1.0 Network Administration Center November 1998User Guide SupplementDownloading the reportIntroduction You must have a terminal emulation package, such as MTE 9,or a capturing software program on your workstation todownload the data stream report from the NAC 2.5 into yourthird-party software application.Note: For more information on how to use MTE 9 to save areport, refer to the MTE User Guide (P0881398), “Saving to afile” chapter, “To save to a file with data stream reporting”section.Setting theterminal settingsThe terminal settings within the terminal emulation packageshould be• 9600 baud rate• 8 data bits• no parity• 1 stop bit• VT-52 or V-100 terminal emulationPreparing the file You should mark the receiving data file with a “.txt” extensionfor easy identification and processing. Refer to thedocumentation from your capturing software program forinstructions on how to download a file.Once you have downloaded the file, you can import it intoapplications such as databases and spreadsheets.
