Supplies 117Caring for your mediaFor best results, follow these instructions when handling media:n Store media in its original packaging in a cool, dry area until you are readyto use it.n The environment should be stable (no extremes of heat or cold, ornon-condensing humidity.) If temperature conditions are outside therecommended range for printer operation, allow the media to acclimate in theoperating environment for at least 48 hours before use.n If you remove a roll of media from the printer, store it in such a way as tokeep it clean and dust-free. Ideally, you should return it to its originalpackaging for storage.n Print on the correct side. Cut sheet media has an ink-receptive side and anon-ink-receptive side. The sheets are notched to help you orient themcorrectly. To identify the correct side, make sure the notch is in the upperright corner when you feed the sheet through the printer.n Handle the media carefully to avoid creases, scrapes, and tears. Avoidcrushing or damaging of roll media edges.Attention: Wear gloves! Film-based and photographic paper-based mediaare very sensitive to scratches and creases, and may absorb skin oils.Fingerprints on the media before printing may result in visible fingerprintsafter ink is applied.
