90 Océ CS 5050/5070 User ManualError handlingIn case of an error, the control panel displays the 'Internal ERROR: Shutdown'message, followed by a specific message that explains the nature of the error.If you cannot clear it, note the message and the sequence of events leading tothe error, in order for Océ technical support personnel to assist you in solvingthe problem.If the control panel displays a “Servo shutdown message”, turn the printer offand on again to clear the error.If the control panel displays an “Unrecognised Cartridge(s)” message, the errororiginates from one of three problems:n One or more non-CS 5050/5070 cartridges installedn One or more incorrectly installed Océ cartridgesn One or more cartridges not installedUnrecognised cartridgeIf you use cartridges other than Océ cartridges, the "unrecognised cartridge"message appears. Also, incorrectly installed cartridges lead to the same errormessage due to poor electrical connections between the cartridge and thecarriage unit.tttt To clear the error1 Press Access Cartridges to move the carriage to the position for replacementof the ink cartridges.2 Check for the correct installation of CS 5050/5070 cartridges in each position.3 Replace any non-standard cartridge with an Océ cartridge.4 Press OK.Note: The printer can sometimes display a cartridge error even with an Océcartridge. This may be due to a build-up of static electricity. Turn off theprinter and unplug it from the outlet. Wait 10 seconds before you plug it backin and turn on the printer.
