User’s Guide39EnglishStopping a TransmissionTo stop a transmission while it is in progress, follow theinstructions below.1. Press the STOP key twice. The display will showSTOPPED2. If documents are stuck part way through the documentfeeder, you may see the following message on the display.RELOAD DOCUMENTPress the STOP key again. Your fax machine feeds thedocument the rest of the way through the document feeder.Note: If your fax machine cannot feed your documentthrough the document feeder, refer to Problem Solving.Receiving Faxes ManuallyYour fax machine receives faxes automatically unless the faxmachine has been set to the manual receive [TEL] mode. If yourfax machine is set to the manual receive [TEL] mode, follow theinstructions below.1. When your telephone or fax machine rings, pick up thetelephone handset. If the call is a voice call, start speakingto the caller.2. If the call is a fax call, or if a person wishes to fax you adocument after having a conversation, press the STARTkey and hang up the handset.Note: You can also tell your fax machine to start faxreception by entering your 2 digit code for remote receiveusing your telephone keypad. Refer to Remote Receive.3. After you receive the fax, a long beep tells you that thereception was successful.Receiving Faxes in MemoryYour fax machine automatically receives messages into memoryand does not immediately print them in the following situations.Memory ReceptionWhen your fax machine has been set to Memory Reception mode[MEM], any received faxes are stored in the memory of your faxmachine and are not automatically printed. The display showsMSG. IN MEMORY if any faxes have been received duringmemory reception mode.When you change the reception mode of your fax machine, anynon-confidential fax messages stored in memory areautomatically printed.If you want to print any fax messages stored in memory withoutchanging the reception mode, carry out the following:1.
