10 ENUsing the recorder onyour PCOperating environmentWindows:Operating system:Microsoft Windows 2000/XP/Vista(Standard Installation)Compatible PC’s:Windows PC’s equipped with morethan one free USB portMacintosh:Operating system:Mac OS X 10.2.8 -10.5 (StandardInstallation)Compatible PC’s:Apple Macintosh series equippedwith more than one free USB portNotes:• This is an operational environmentfor saving the files recorded bythis recorder to your PC with USBconnection.• Even if operational environment issatisfied, we do not support suchas upgraded OS, the multi-bootenvironment and self-modified PC’s.Connecting to your PC1 Boot the PC.2 Slide the USB connector slide leverin the direction indicated by thearrow to eject the USB connectorout of the recorder.3 Connect to the PC's USB port or to aUSB hub.Windows:When you open [My Computer],it will be recognized by the drivename of the product name.Macintosh:When you connect the recorderto a Mac OS, it will be recognizedby the drive name of the productname on the desktop.• [Remote] is appeared onrecorder if the USB cable isconnected.Notes:• Refer to the user’s manual for your PCregarding the USB port on your PC.• Be sure to push the cableconnector all the way in.Otherwise, the recorder may notoperate properly.• Use the supplied USB extensioncable depending on situations.• Do not use USB extension cablesother than the supplied cable.Using cables from othermanufacturers could result indamage to the recorder. Do notuse the supplied USB extensioncable with devices from othermanufacturers.• If you are using Windows 2000,Windows Media Player must beinstalled on the PC.Disconnecting from your PCWindows:1 Click [ ] on the task bar locatedat the lower-right corner of thescreen. Click [Safely removeUSB Mass Storade Device].• The drive letter will differdepending on the PC beingused.2 When the safe to remove hardwarewindow appears, click [OK].3 Disconnect the recorder from thePC.Macintosh:1 Move the drive icon for this recorderthat is appear on the desktop to thegarbage bin by Drag & Drop it.• When you connect the recorderto a Mac OS, it will be recognizedby the drive name of the productname on the desktop.2 Disconnect the recorder from thePC.Note:• NEVER disconnect the USB whilethe recording indicator light isflashing.
