9ENPlayback (Fig. 7)" For WS-500M:• When playing back filestransferred from a PC, set themode switch according to thefolder type.• When playing back filesrecorded on the recorder, set themode switch to [VOICE].1 Select the folder which contains thefiles to be played back.• Pressing the LIST button at thefile display during playback orwhile stopped will return you tothe next higher level. Pressingthe LIST button repeatedlywill bring you to the folder listdisplay.• Pressing button + or − at thefolder list display will select thefolders for voice recordings andpress the OK ` or 9 button.2 In the File list display, press the + or− button to select the file that youwant to playback.• In the File display, press the 9or 0 button to select a file.3 Press the OK ` button to startplayback.• [6] will appear on the display.a File nameb Folder indicatorc Playback position bar indicatord Elapsed playback timee File length4 Press the + or − button to adjust toa comfortable listening volume.• The volume can be adjustedwithin a range from [00] to [30].5 Press the STOP 4 button atany point you want to stop theplayback.• [4] will appear on the display.Setting an index mark ora temp mark (Fig. 8)1 While the recorder is duringrecording mode or playback mode,press the INDEX/ERASE button.• Even after an index or temp markis placed, recording or playbackwill continue so you can placeindex or temp marks in otherlocations in a similar manner.Clearing an Index Mark ora Temp Mark (Fig. 9):1 Locate the index or temp markyouwant to clear.2 Press the 9 or 0 button toselect the index or temp mark toerase.3 While the index or temp numberappears for approximately 2seconds on the display, Press theINDEX/ERASE button .• The index or temp mark iserased.Note:• Up to 16 index and temp markscan be set in a file. If you try toplace more than 16 index or tempmarks, [Index Full] messagewill appear for index marks, and[Temp Mark Full] for temp marks.How to begin segmentrepeat playback (Fig. p)1 Select a file that has a segment youwould like to play back repeatedly.2 In the file list display, press the + or− button to select the file you wantto clear.3 Press the OK ` button to startplayback.4 Press the RECs button at the pointyou want to start segment repeatplayback.• [w] will flash on the display.5 Press the RECs button again atthe position where you want to endsegment repeat playback.• The recorder repeatedly playsback the segment until thesegment repeat playback iscancelled.Note:• As in regular play mode, playbackspeed can be changed duringsegment repeat playback as well.If an index mark and temp markare inserted or eliminated duringsegment repeat playback, segmentrepeat playback will be canceledand it will return to regular playmode.Erasing (Fig. q)1 Select the folder or file you want toerase.2 In the file list display, press the + or− button to select the file you wantto erase.3. While the recorder is during stopmode, press the INDEX/ERASEbutton.4 Press the + button to select[Erase in Folder] or[File Erase].5 Press the OK ` button.6 Press the + button to select[Start].7 Press the OK ` button.• The display changes to [Erase!]and erasing will start.• [Erase Done] is displayed whenthe file is erased. File numberswill be reassigned automatically.Notes:• The locked files and files set asread-only cannot be erased.• If an action is not selected within 8seconds, the recorder will return tostop status.• It may take over 10 seconds tocomplete processing. Neverremove batteries during this timebecause data may be corrupted. Inaddition, replace the batteries withnew ones in order to ensure thatthe batteries will not run out whileprocessing.• For WS-500M only:You can delete other than [Music]folders when the recorder is setto [MUSIC] mode. However, youcannot delete any folders whenthe recorder is set to [VOICE]mode.• For WS-400S only:You cannot delete folders throughtherecorder.
