321 Set the GAIN and WHITE BAL switches.• For the WHITE BAL switch, select A or B asa position to save the adjustment value.2 Adjust the ND FILTER dial according to thelight conditions.For examples of ND FILTER dial, see “Lightintensity adjustments” (Page 31).3 Place a white pattern at a point where thelight conditions match those for the lightsource of the subject. Then zoom-in on thewhite pattern so that white color appears inthe screen.• A white object (cloth or wall) may be usedinstead of a white pattern. The illustrationbelow shows the required size for the whitespace.• Do not point the camera-recorder at a high-brightness area.• The white object must appear at the centerof the screen.1/3 or more of the screen in width1/3 or moreof the screenin height4 Adjust the lens iris.• Use the Y GET function (Page 122) and adjustthe iris to a approximately 70 % of incominglight.5 Press the AWB button.• The switch returns to the central position withthe white balance automatically adjusted.6 During an adjustment, the viewfinderor LCD monitor displays the followingmessage:AWB Ach ACTIVEAdjusting the white balance and black balanceTo record high-quality video with the AG-HPX255P/EN, the black and white balances must be adjustedaccording to conditions.If white balance and black balance adjustmentsare made while the video image is distorteddue to GENLOCK, the adjustments may notbe correct.
