85 PlaybackReconnection of incomplete clipsIncomplete clips may be generated when clipsrecorded on multiple P2 cards (connected clips) areseparately copied to different cards. Reconnectionfunction generates one clip (the original, connectedclip) from incomplete clips.1 Turn the POWER/MODE switch to set to PB/THUMBNAIL mode.The thumbnail screen appears on the LCDmonitor.2 Use the Operation lever to selectincomplete clips to reconnect.Usually, thumbnails of incomplete clips (clipswith marker) are displayed in line.3 Press the MENU button and selectOPERATION → RE-CONNECTION from thethumbnail menu.A YES/NO confirmation screen asks you toconfirm that you want to reconnect the clip.Select YES with the Operation lever if you wishto reconnect the incomplete clip.Clips that are connected as a group must begrouped together or they will be displayed asincomplete clips.Restoring clipsRestores clips that are defective as a result ofsudden powering-down during recording, orremoval of the P2 card being accessed.Only those clips with yellow corrupt clipmarkers can be restored. Clips with a redcorrupt clip indicator cannot be repaired.Please delete such clips. If the clip cannot bedeleted, format the P2 card.During restoration of the clips, however, thedefective-clip indicator may change fromyellow to red, resulting in inability to restorethe clips.1 Turn the POWER/MODE switch to set to PB/THUMBNAIL mode.The thumbnail screen appears on the LCDmonitor.2 Push the Operation lever in the ◄ ►direction and position it on the clip youwish to restore (clips with the yellowcorrupt clip indicator which signifies thatthey can be restored are displayed). PressSET on the Operation lever to select theclip.3 Press the MENU button, and selectOPERATION → REPAIR CLIP from thethumbnail menu.A YES/NO confirmation screen asks you toconfirm that you want to repair the clip. SelectYES with the Operation lever if you wish torestore the clip.
