Settings andCustomisationYou can configure various settings to customise thebehaviour of the KX-NT400 to fit your work flow.User OptionsThis section explains the settings available in UserOptions on the Options tab.User options are settings that modify the appearanceand behaviour of normal operation screens, such as theHOME screen, Contacts screen, Portal screen, etc.Note• You can edit the settings in User Options onlywhen the KX-NT400 is idle.Password SettingsThe Password settings allow you to activate theApplication Lock feature and set the Application Lockpassword. When the Application Lock feature isenabled, you can set the Application Lock from theHOME screen.The password is used to cancel the Application Lockonce you have set it.To access the Password settings1. Press the Options tab > User Options >Password.2. Configure the settings as desired.See "Details for Password Settings (Page 121)".3. Press OK.Usage tips• For details about using the Application Lock, see"Locking Operations (Application Lock) (Page 79)".Details for Password SettingsApplication LockSelect whether to enable the Application Lockfeature.• Default: Don’t useCurrent PasswordWhen you are changing the password, enter thecurrent password in this box.New PasswordWhen you are changing the password, enter thenew password in this box.• Maximum 16 charactersVerify PasswordWhen you are changing the password, enter thenew password again in this box.• Maximum 16 charactersCAUTIONTo avoid unauthorised access to locked screens:• Set a password when you enable theApplication Lock feature.• Set a password that is random and cannot beeasily guessed.• Change the password regularly.Display / Operation SettingsThe Display / Operation settings allow you to customisethe settings for the touch screen, such as the displaycolour and brightness.
