168 Menu: Menu ConfigurationThe menu options are set with the MENU and jog dialbuttons.The menu comprises main menu, sub-menus and optionsmenus.The data specified through menu options are written andsaved in the internal memory of the unit.This section describes how to set options in MAIN MENU.The other menus can be configured in the same manner (themethod of displaying the menu screen depends on theparticular menu).¡ NoteWhen the unit is in thumbnail mode, the viewfinder displays“THUMBNAIL OPEN”, disabling navigation through themenu.1 Press the MENU button for 3 seconds or longer.The MAIN MENU screen appears, together with itsoptions.2 Turn the jog dial button to move the mark () to adesired menu option. Then, press the jog dial button todisplay the sub-menu screen.3 Turn the jog dial button to move the mark () to adesired menu option. Then, press the jog dial button todisplay the options screen.4 Turn the jog dial button to move the mark () to adesired option. Then, press the jog dial button. Thevalue starts blinking.5 Turn the jog dial button to change the value.To increase the value:Turn the jog dial button clockwise, as seen from the frontof the camera.To decrease the value:Turn the jog dial button anti-clockwise, as seen from thefront of the camera.Each turn of the dial switches the value by one step. Aquick turn changes the value rapidly; a slow turn makesa fine adjustment.To turn an option on or off:To select “ON”, turn the jog dial button clockwise, asseen from the front of the camera.To select “OFF”, turn the jog dial button anti-clockwise,as seen from the front of the camera.To return the changed set value to the previous one:To return the changed value to the previous one, pressthe SHOT MARKER/MENU CANCEL button once whilethe changed value is flashing and “PUSH CANCELBACK TO PREV” will appear. Press the SHOTMARKER/MENU CANCEL button again to return the setvalue to the value before the change.¡Notesy The following menu items cannot be canceled usingthe SHOT MARKER/MENU CANCEL button.– Pages on the USER MENU SELECT screen– Pages on the FILE screen– CAMERA ID– Part of the WHITE BALANCE MODE pages– BATTERY SETTING1, 2– UMID SET/INFOy In the 1080/23.98P and 1080/24P modes, the menudisplayed on the LCD monitor may blink.
