46 Recording and Playback: Recording Review Functiony SoundBy selecting “ON”/“OFF” for the menu option AUDIO RECin the screen, it is possible to specifywhether or not sound will be recorded during intervalrecording.y Record/playback buttonsDuring interval recording, all operation buttons other thanSTOP (REW, FF, PLAY/PAUSE) are disabled. However,during a pause in ONE SHOT mode, REC REVIEW canbe executed with the RET button on the lens.y If the POWER switch is turned [OFF] during recordingIf the unit is turned off during interval recording, the videostored in memory is recorded onto the P2 card, and thenthe unit automatically turns off.y To start emergency recording during a pauseIf the REC START button is assigned to one of the USERMAIN, USER 1, USER 2, MARKER SELECT and TEXTMEMO button in advance, emergency recording can bestarted during a pause by holding down the relevantbutton. Pause time measurement continues after suchemergency recording. However, these buttons will notoperate even if pressed when REC FORMAT is set to“24P”, “24PA”, or “24PN”.¡NoteHowever, this function does not work in native recording withVFR operation.y Time code indicationWhen recording starts, the time code (TCG) display maynot update until the unit recognizes the P2 card.y Removing cardsDuring INTERVAL REC mode operation, the P2 cardaccess LED for the target P2 card blinks in orange. Do notremove the P2 card during this status. If you shouldremove the card accidentally, restore clips. However, evenif the clips are restored, the last 3 to 4 seconds of therecording (up to a maximum of about 10 seconds if the P2card is removed while recording onto multiple P2 cards)may be lost. For more information on how to fix clips, see[Restoring Clips] (page 135).y Thumbnail operation and menu operationThumbnail operation does not work during the INTERVALREC mode operation. Press the STOP button beforeoperating thumbnails.When standby time is set to 1 minute or more or when inONE SHOT mode, the following restrictions apply eventhough the menu can be operated during stand-by mode.– The respective settings of SYSTEM MODE, RECFORMAT, CAMERA MODE, PC MODE and VFRcannot be changed.– The respective settings for SD CARD READ/WRITE,LENS FILE CARD R/W, READ USER DATA, and READFACTORY DATA cannot be executed.When recording is paused, pressing the RET buttonautomatically locates the last 2 seconds of video justrecorded, and the viewfinder provides video playback. Thus,it is possible to check whether the recording has beenperformed correctly.After playback, the unit is again ready to start recording.The picture location/playback duration can be increased toup to 10 seconds by continuously pressing the RET button.For short clips, however, when the start of a clip is located,continuously pressing the RET button does not play backany clips before that clip.The function of the RET button may be assigned to adesired user button by using one of the menu options USERMAIN SW, USER1 SW, USER2 SW, MARKER SEL orTEXT MEMO SW.
