This command terminates all management sessions, saves allconfiguration information, and clears the event log. After the pending firmware isactivated, the configuration is recovered. This process takes less than 80seconds. To save the event log to a file before resetting, refer to the ”Set LogCommand” on page A-74.Authority Admin sessionSyntax hotresetNotes You can load and activate version 5.0.x firmware on an operating switchwithout disrupting data traffic or having to re-initialize attached devices underthe following conditions: The current firmware version is a 4.0, 4.1, 4.2, or 5.x version thatprecedes the upgrade version. No changes are being made to switches in the fabric includingpowering up, powering down, disconnecting or connecting ISLs, andswitch configuration changes. No port in the fabric is in the diagnostic state. No zoning changes are being made in the fabric. No changes are being made to attached devices including poweringup, powering down, disconnecting, connecting, and HBA configurationchanges. Ports that are stable when the non-disruptive activation begins, then changestates, will be reset. When the non-disruptive activation is complete,SANsurfer Switch Manager sessions reconnect automatically. However,Telnet sessions must be restarted manually. This command clears the event log and all counters.
