Chapter 5: Using the KVM Client55If automatic mouse synchronization fails, this mode will revert tostandard mouse synchronization behavior. SeeStandard MouseMode (on page 55).Note that mouse configurations will vary on different target servers'operating systems. Consult your OS guidelines for further details.Note: Automatic mouse synchronization does not work with UNIX targetservers.Standard Mouse ModeStandard mouse mode uses a standard mouse synchronizationalgorithm. The algorithm determines relative mouse positions on theUser Station and target server. In order for the User Station's and target server's mouse cursors to stayin synch, mouse acceleration must be disabled. Additionally, specificmouse parameters must be set correctly. To enter the Standard mouse mode:• Click > Standard.Mouse Synchronization TipsIf you have an issue with mouse synchronization:1. Verify that the selected video resolution and refresh rate are amongthose supported by your User Station. The KVM Client's Connection Properties dialog displays the actualvalues the User Station is seeing.2. Force a video auto-sense by clicking the KVM Client's Auto-senseVideo button .3. If that does not improve the mouse synchronization (for Linux, UNIX,and Solaris target servers):a. Open a terminal window.b. Enter this command: xset mouse 1 1c. Close the terminal window.4. Click the KVM Client's mouse synchronization button .Note: If the mouse synchronization issue still cannot be resolved, enterthe Absolute or single mouse mode. See Single Mouse Cursor(on page52) and Absolute Mouse Mode(on page 53).
