5-6 EB 3018 ENInstallation5.3.1 Installing the regulatorBefore installing the regulator, tighten thestopper(s) at the side of the valve body usinga suitable box wrench (see 'Tighteningtorques' in the Annex). The regulator can be installed into the down-stream pressure pipe (return flow pipe) orthe upstream pressure pipe (flow pipe) of theplant. See installation examples in Fig. 5-2.1. Close the shut-off valves (1, 6) upstreamand downstream of the regulator whilethe regulator is being installed.Î Mounting the valve2. Remove the protective caps from thevalve ports before installing the valve.3. Lift the valve using suitable lifting equip-ment to the site of installation. Observethe flow direction through the valve. Thearrow on the valve indicates the directionof flow.4. Make sure that the correct flange gasketsare used.5. Bolt the pipe to the valve free of stress.NoteÎ Mounting the actuator6. Fasten the actuator on the valve by tight-ening the coupling nut (11). Observe thealignment of the control line connection.Observe the specified tightening torques(see 'Tightening torques' in Annex).Î Mounting the control line7. Mount the control line onto the valve andactuator. Observe the specified tighten-ing torques (see 'Tightening torques' inAnnex).Î Mounting the electric actuatorRead the mounting and operating instruc-tions of actuators with fail-safe action (seedocuments listed under 'Referenced docu-mentation' in the 'Safety instructions andmeasures' section).8. Mount the electric actuator (1) on thevalve connection (2). Refer to the associ-ated mounting and operating instructionsof the electric actuator. Observe thespecified tightening torques (see 'Tighten-ing torques' in Annex).9. Connect the power supply to the electricactuator (1). Refer to the associatedmounting and operating instructions ofthe electric actuator.10. Slowly open the shut-off valves in thepipeline after the valve has been in-stalled.Note
