EB 3018 EN 6-1Start-up6 Start-upThe work described in this section is only tobe performed by personnel appropriatelyqualified to carry out such tasks.Risk of fatal injury due to electric shock.Î Upon installation of the electric cables,you are required to observe the regula-tions concerning low-voltage installationsaccording to DIN VDE 0100 as well asthe regulations of your local power sup-plier.Î Use a suitable voltage supply whichguarantees that no dangerous voltagesreach the device in normal operation orin the event of a fault in the system orany other system parts.Î Only perform the electrical connectionafter switching off the supply voltage.Make sure the supply voltage cannot beswitched on again unintentionally.Risk of personal injury due to process me-dium escaping.Î Do not start up the regulator until allparts have been mounted.Risk of personal injury due to pressurizedcomponents and process medium being dis-charged.Î Do not loosen the control line while thevalve is pressurized.DANGER!DANGER!WARNING!Risk of burn injuries due to hot or cold com-ponents and pipeline.Regulator components and the pipeline maybecome very hot or cold. Risk of burn inju-ries.Î Allow components and pipelines to cooldown or warm up to the ambient tem-perature.Î Wear protective clothing and safetygloves.Crush hazard arising from moving parts.The regulator contains moving parts (actua-tor and plug stem), which can injure handsor fingers if inserted into the valve.Î Do not insert hands or finger into theyoke while the valve is in operation.Î Disconnect the supply voltage and pro-tect it against unintentional reconnectionbefore performing any work on the con-trol valve.Î Do not impede the movement of the actu-ator or plug stem by inserting objects in-to their path.Î Before unblocking the actuator and plugstem after they have become blocked(e.g. due to seizing up after remaining inthe same position for a long time), re-lease any stored energy in the actuator(e.g. spring compression).
