Press the Setup tab > Fax Setup.OPTION DESCRIPTIONPage Number If you select this option On, each copy will includethe page number on the bottom of each page.Time & Date Set this option On in order to print the date andtime on each copy, set from the General tab.ID Stamp This option is used to set words or a message toprint on your copies. Set this option On and aninput screen will be displayed, write your messageusing the pop up keyboard.Manual ID CopySetupThis option sets the ID copy settings such as thenumber of images or copying positions manually.(See "Copying ID with the manual ID copyoption" on page 45.)The fax options are different from country to country depending onthe international communication regulatory. If the display screendoes not show or gray out some of the fax options explainedherein, it means that the grayed out function does not supported inyour communication environment.OPTION DESCRIPTIONMachine ID & FaxNoEnter the machine ID and fax number which willbe printed at the top of each page. Select thecountry name. This option usually pre-set for user.Receive Start Code This feature works best when you are using anextension telephone connected to the EXT socketon the back of your machine. You can receive afax from someone you are talking to on theextension telephone, without going to the faxmachine. (See "Receiving faxes manually usingan extension telephone" on page 63.)Error CorrectionModeIt helps with poor line quality and makes sure anyfaxes you send are properly transmitted to anyother ECM-equipped fax machines. Sending a faxusing ECM may take more time.Fax Initial Setup You can set Receive Mode for Telephone, Fax orAnswering Machine/Fax, and Dial Mode at eitherPulse (Dial Pulse) or Tone (Multi Frequency).When you select Answering Machine/Fax, youcan receive a fax while the line is being used bythe answering machine. (See "Changing thereceive modes" on page 63.)Contact your local telephone company for DialMode setting information.Ring to Answer You can specify the number of times the machinerings before answering an incoming call.Receive Header Use this option to automatically print the pagenumber, date and time of fax reception at thebottom of each page.Secure Receive You may need to prevent your received faxes frombeing accessed by unauthorized people. Thisfeature restricts printing of received faxes whenthe machine is unattended. If you select thisoption to On, all incoming faxes go into memory.A four-digit Passcode is used when you want toprint out received faxes in memory. (See"Receiving in secure receiving mode" onpage 63.)Received FaxPrintingWhen receiving a fax containing pages longerthan the paper loaded in the tray, the machine canreduce the size of the original to fit the size of thepaper loaded in the machine. If this feature is setto Off, the machine cannot reduce the original tofit onto one page. The original will be divided andprinted in actual size on two or more pages. If youset this option to On and set the discard size to10mm and the received data is longer then thecurrently set paper in the tray, the machineminuses the data that would have been on thespecified discard segment.
