Call functions22Making a call using contactsYou can store contact information, such asnames and phone numbers that you useregularly, in the SIM card and the phone’smemory. This information is stored in one list,called Contacts. For more information aboutadding contacts, see page 85.1. Find the number you want to dial.For further details about searching for anumber, see page 84.2. To dial the number, press the key.Viewing missed callsThe number of missed calls displays on the idlescreen immediately after a call is missed.If you have a subscription that includes CallerLine Identification (CLI) and you are unable toanswer a call for any reason, you can find outwho was calling you and then call the personback.To view the missed call immediately:1. Open the folder. The pop-up window showsthat you have missed calls.2. If there is more than one number, select thenumber you want to phone back and pressthe key.To use the missed call options, see page 89.Making a call using a pauseWhen you call automated systems, like bankingservices, you are often required to enter apassword or account number. Instead ofmanually entering the numbers each time, youcan enter them before dialling, separated by apause.1. In idle mode, enter the first number of aservice, such as the bank’s teleservicenumber.2. Press and hold the key to insert a pause.A “P” appears, meaning that a pause willoccur at that point in the dialling sequence.Call functions233. Enter the number that needs to follow thepause, such as your account number.4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 to add more pauses andnumbers, if necessary.5. Press the key to dial.6. When prompted, press the key to send theDTMF (Dual Tone Multi-frequency) tones ofthe number that follows the pause.The number is sent to the system.7. Repeat Step 6, as you are prompted.Ending a callWhen you want to finish your call, briefly pressthe key, or close the handset, or press theEnd call option in the call options.Answering a callWhen someone calls you, the phone rings and anincoming call box displays.If the caller can be identified, the caller’s phonenumber, or name if stored in Contacts, displays.If the incoming call is a restricted call (the callerhas opted to not send his/her phone number foridentification), the display shows Withheld; if itis unknown, the display shows Anonymous.1. To answer a call, open the handset. If it isalready open, press the key, the OK key,or the Accept soft key.2. End the call by closing the handset orpressing the key.Note: You can answer a call while using the menufunctions. The current operation is cancelled.Rejecting a callTo reject an incoming call, press and hold thekey on the right side of the phone.When the phone is open, you can also press theReject soft key or the key.
