94SettingsMany different features of your phone can becustomised to suit your preferences in theSettings menu.Phone profiles (Menu 9-1)In Profiles, you can adjust and customise thephone tones for different events or situations.There are five preset profiles: Normal,Meeting, Car, Silent, and Outdoor, which youcan customise to meet your needs.Changing the profilesOn the Profiles screen, select a profile bypressing the Up or Down scroll key and press theOK soft key.Note: You can quickly change to silent mode byholding the key down when in idle mode.To change back to the previous profilemode, hold the key down again.Customising the profiles1. To modify a profile, scroll to the profile on theProfiles list by pressing the Up or Down scrollkey, and then press the Option and Edit key.A list of profile settings opens. The availablesetting options vary depending on theselected profile.2. Scroll to the setting you want to change bypressing the Up or Down scroll key, and thenchange the setting using the Left or Rightscroll keys, or the OK key.The following options are available:• Call alert type: allows you to select thealert type for the call ringer. You can choosefrom Melody, Vibration, Mute (Lightonly), and Vibration & melody.• Voice call/V-Call ringtone: enables youto select a melody or tone to be used whenyou select Melody or Vib & melody in theCall alert type option. Press the OK keyand select a sound from the alert tone list.Settings95• Tone volume: allows you to adjust thevolume level of the voice call, video call,ringtone, and message alert tone.• Msg. alert type: allows you to select thealert type for the message ringer.• Msg. alert tone: allows you to select themelody or tone to be used if you selectMelody or Vib & melody in the Msg. alerttype option.The last item on the list of tone choices isSpecial tone. If you select Special tone,you will see a list of tones that have beendownloaded, and you can select one ofthose tones for your Msg. alert tone.• Msg. alert repetition: allows you tospecify how often the phone informs you ofa new message. You can choose eitherOnce or Periodic.• Phone sounds: allows you to turn thefollowing alert sounds on or off:All on: enables all tones.Popup box alerts: sets the phone to informyou of the status.Minute minder: lets you set the phone tobeep every minute during an outgoing call tokeep you informed of the length of your call.Call connect tone: sets the phone to beepwhen the person you are calling answersthe phone.Call end tone: sets the phone to beep whenyour call ends.Power on: sets the phone to beep when thephone is switched on.Sound effects: sets the phone to beep whenyou access the menu.Folder open/close: sets the phone to beepwhen you open or close the phone.Alerts on call: sets the phone to all alertswhile calling.All off: disables all tones.To enable an effect tone(s), press the OKkey to place a check mark next to thetone(s) you want. To remove a check mark,press the OK key again. Then press theDone soft key to save the settings.• Key tones: allows you to select a tonewhich sounds when you press a key.• Key tone volume: allows you to adjust thevolume level of the key tones.3. When you finish setting the options, press theSave soft key.
