These codes helpyou protect the phone against unauthorised use.The access codes (except for the PUK and PUK2codes) can be changed using the Security menu(Menu 9-7). See page 107 for further details.Phone passwordThe phone password can be used to avoidunauthorised use of your phone. The defaultpassword “00000000” (8 zeros) is usuallysupplied with the phone. Change the passwordbefore you start using your phone. Keep the newpassword secret and in a safe place, separatefrom the phone.PINThe PIN (Personal Identification Number)protects your SIM card against unauthorised use.It is usually supplied with the SIM card. Whenthe PIN lock feature is enabled (see page 107),you must enter the PIN each time you switch onthe phone.If you enter an incorrect PIN three times insuccession, enter the PUK obtained from yournetwork operator and press the Confirm softkey to unlock the phone. Enter a new PIN andpress the Confirm soft key. Enter the new PINagain and press the Confirm soft key.PIN2The PIN2, supplied with some SIM cards, isrequired to access some functions, such ascharging unit counters. These functions are onlyavailable if supported by your SIM card.If you enter an incorrect PIN2 three times insuccession, enter the PUK2 and press theConfirm soft key to unlock the phone. Enter anew PIN2 and press the Confirm soft key. Enterthe new PIN2 again and press the Confirm softkey.
