If the Mute Keys option is selected, your phonedoes not transmit the key tones, which allows youto press keys without hearing annoying key tonesduring a call.Note: To communicate with answering machines orcomputerised telephone systems, the SendKeys option must be selected.Sending DTMF TonesYou can send the DTMF (Dual Tone Multi-Frequency) tones of the number on the displayduring a call.This option is helpful for entering a password oraccount number when you call an automatedsystem, like a banking service.To send the DTMF tones:1. When you are connected to the teleservicesystem, press the Options soft key.2. Press the key to highlight the Send DTMFoption.3. Press the OK soft key.4. Enter the number you want to send and pressthe OK soft key.The tones of the displayed number are sent.Options During a Call53Searching for a Number inPhonebookYou can search for a number in Phonebook during acall.1. Press the Options soft key.2. Press the key to highlight the Phonebookoption.3. Press the OK soft key.The Phonebook entries are listed.4. Enter the name that you wish to find.If you enter the first few letters of the name, thePhonebook entries are listed, starting with thefirst entry matching your input.5. To view the highlighted entry, press the Viewsoft key.For further details about the Phonebook feature,see page 31.Answering a Second CallYou can answer an incoming call while you have acall in progress, if your network supports thisservice and you have set the Call Waiting menu(Menu 8.3) to Activate; see page 126. You arenotified of an incoming call by a call waiting tone.To answer a call while you have a call in progress:1. Press the key to answer the incoming call.The first call is automatically put on hold.
