Text Messages70Templates (Menu 1.4)Using this menu, you can preset up to fivemessages that you use most frequently.Select an empty location or the message templateyou want and press the Options soft key.The following options are available:Edit: allows you to write a new message or edit themessage.Note: For further details about how to entercharacters, see page 42.Send Message: allows you to retrieve themessage. Once you have completed the message,you can send, save and send, or simply save it. Forfurther details about how to send a message, seepage 67.Delete: allows you to delete the message. You areasked to confirm the deletion by pressing the Yessoft key.Settings (Menu 1.5)In this menu, you can set up default SMSinformation. A setting group is a collection ofsettings required to send messages. The number ofsetting groups available depends on the capacity ofyour SIM card.Note: The last setting you accessed is automaticallyactivated for sending messages.Text Messages71Setting x (where x is the setting group number):each group has its own sub-menu.Service Centre: allows you to store or change thenumber of your message centre, which is requiredwhen sending messages. You must obtain thisnumber from your service provider.Default Destination: allows you to store the defaultdestination number. The number automaticallydisplays on the Destination screen when you createa message.Default Type: allows you to set the default messagetype to Text, Fax, Email or Paging. The networkcan convert the messages into the selected format.Default Validity: allows you to set the length of timeyour text messages are stored at the messagecentre while attempts are made to deliver them.Setting Name: allows you to give a name to thesetting group currently being defined.Common Setting: The following options areavailable:Reply Path: allows the recipient of your message tosend you a reply via your message centre, if yournetwork supports this service. To enable or disablethis option, press the On or Off soft key.Delivery Reports: allows you to activate ordeactivate the report function. When this function isactivated, the network informs you whether or notyour message has been delivered. To enable ordisable this option, press the On or Off soft key.Bearer Selection: allows you to choose either GSMor GPRS, depending on your network.
