Thisfeature of economy mode may be turned on and offusing the function menu (see “User FunctionMenu” on page 34).Operating any of the control head controls, or thePTT key, returns the radio to the fully active state.EmergencyModeEmergency mode is activated either by a hiddenswitch or by giving a press of the auxiliary key( ). An emergency 5-tone or G-STARencoded call is then sent out to a predeterminedlocation, such as your dispatcher. Your radio musthave either 5-tone or G-STAR signaling installedand be programmed appropriately.Once emergency mode is activated, your radio mayrepeatedly transmit the emergency sequence.
