Press the 8/HOME button to finish recording.To pause the recording, press the RECORD[0] button. When you press the RECORD[0] button again or press the 7/9 button,recording in the same file resumes.When you press the 8/HOME button afterpausing the recording, an audio file of thesound recorded up to pausing is created.About the recording standbystateThis unit has a recording standby state like that of arecorder for professional use. Use the included USB cable to connect the unitto a computer. If the power is off, turn it on.2. On the USB SELECT screen, select STORAGE andpress the ENTER/MARK button to connectthis unit to the computer. USB connected willappear on the display.3. When you open Computer in Windows, thisunit shows on the computer screen as anexternal drive named “DR-44WL”.Exchanging files with acomputerClick the “DR-44WL” drive on the computer to showthe “MTR”, “MUSIC” and “UTILITY” folders.To transfer files to the computer, open the “MTR” or“MUSIC” folder and drag and drop the desired fileswhere you want them to go.To transfer files from the computer, drag and dropthe desired audio files on the computer to the“MUSIC” folder.Disconnecting the unit from acomputerBefore disconnecting the USB cable, follow theproper procedures for the computer to unmountthis unit.The power turns off after the unit completes itsshutdown process.See the computer’s operation manual for instruc-tions about how to unmount an external device.Settings and InformationDisplayTurning the built-in speaker offSet the items MENU w TOOLS w SPEAKER to OFF.System settingsUse the SYSTEM menu to customize settings forusing the unit.
