Service and Repair Manual December 2019Jib Boom Components40 SX™-150 Part No. 1268496GT3-3How to Remove the Jib BoomBellcrankNote: Perform this procedure with the boom in thestowed position.Note: When removing a hose assembly or fitting,the O-ring (if equipped) on the fitting and/or hoseend must be replaced. All connections must betorqued to specification during installation. Refer toSpecifications, Hydraulic Hose and Fitting TorqueSpecifications.1 Remove the platform. Refer to RepairProcedure, How to Remove the Platform.2 Remove the platform mounting weldment andthe platform rotator. Refer to RepairProcedure, How to Remove the PlatformRotator.3 Remove the jib boom. Refer to RepairProcedure, How to Remove the Jib Boom.4 Attach a lifting strap from an overhead craneto the jib boom bellcrank.5 Support the rod end of the bellcrank levelingcylinder with a suitable lifting device. Protectthe cylinder rod from damage.6 Remove the pin retaining fastener from thebellcrank leveling cylinder rod-end pivot pin.7 Use a soft metal drift to remove the bellcrankleveling cylinder rod-end pivot pin.Crushing hazard. The bellcrankleveling cylinder may bedamaged if it is not properlysupported when the rod-endpivot pin is removed.8 Remove the pin retaining fastener from the jibboom bellcrank pivot pin.9 Use a soft metal drift to remove the jib boombellcrank pivot pin. Remove the jib boombellcrank from the machine.Crushing hazard. The jib boombellcrank may becomeunbalanced and fall if it is notproperly supported when it isremoved from the machine.
