270 Service plan, maintenanceDiesel fuel filterOn each engine oil change, have the fuelfilter checked for any water residue by aworkshop.For engines 1) Z 19 DT, Z 19 DTL andZ 19 DTH, control indicator A illuminatesif there is water in the diesel fuel filter.Have fuel filter checked at shorter intervalsif the vehicle is subjected to extremeoperating conditions such as high humidity(primarily in coastal areas), extremely highor low outside temperatures andsubstantially varying daytime and night-time temperatures.CoolantThe –glycol-based – coolant providesexcellent corrosion protection for theheating and cooling systems as well asantifreeze protection down to approx.-28 °C. It remains in the cooling systemthroughout the year and need not bechanged.Use of certain antifreezes can lead toengine damage. We therefore recommendthat you use only approved antifreezes.Antifreeze and corrosion protectionBefore the start of winter, have a workshopcheck the antifreeze protection. Theantifreeze level must guarantee protectionto approx. -28 °C. Insufficient antifreezewill reduce the frost protection level andthe corrosion protection.
