If the key is recognised as"authorised" the vehicle can be started.The check is carried out via a transponderin the key.The electronic immobiliser activatesautomatically when the key is removedfrom the ignition switch.The code number of the electronicimmobiliser is given in the Car Pass.Control indicator for immobiliserControl indicator A illuminates brieflywhen the ignition is switched on.If the control indicator flashes when theignition is on, there is a fault in the system;the engine cannot be started. Switch offthe ignition and then repeat the startattempt.If the control indicator A continues toflash, try to start the engine using thesecond key and contact a workshop forassistance.If control indicator A illuminates after theengine is started, there is a fault in theengine electronics or transmissionelectronics 3 (see pages 174, 182, 192) orthere is water in the diesel fuel filter 3, seepage 270.NoteThe immobiliser does not lock the doors.Therefore, after leaving the vehicle alwayslock it and switch on the Vauxhall alarmsystem 3 – see pages 30, 35.
