It can be found by viewingServices from the Control Panel.To check printer status before the next scheduled poll, highlight the target printerand right-click the mouse, accessing the printer right-click menu. Select CheckStatus from the menu and PrinterMap performs an immediate status check for thetarget printer. PrinterMap updates printer’s status and if necessary logs anyalarms.NOTE: PrinterMap services write printer information to the hard driveduring polling operations. Norton Speed Disk and other diskdefragmenting tools may have difficulty operating during hard driveupdates. If this occurs, temporarily stop the Reporting and Statusservices until defragmenting is completed.Icon ColorsIn the Topology window, each printer is represented by an icon. The icon colorindicates the status of the printer. The PrinterMap topology can be a patchwork ofRed, Yellow, Green, and Blue, depending on the status of individual printers.If the status of a printer changes from one polling period to the next, the screenicon color changes to reflect the new status.
