3-6 Phaser 6250 Color Laser Printer Service ManualService DiagnosticsThe Phaser 6250 Color Laser Printer has built-in diagnostics to aid in troubleshootingproblems with the printer. The Service Diagnostics Menu provides a means to testsensors, motors, switches, clutches, fans and solenoids. Diagnostics also containbuilt-in test prints, cleaning procedures, printer status and some NVRAM access.Service diagnostics are executed through the front panel by a certified servicetechnician only. Service Diagnostics can be entered one of two ways:Entering without rebooting the printer:1. From the printer’s main menu, scroll to the Troubleshooting Menu, press OKand then scroll to the Service Tools Menu and press OK.2. Hold down the Up Arrow button and press the Down Arrow button, this willdisplay the Hidden Service Menu. Scroll to Run Service Diagnostics andpress OK.Entering by rebooting the printer:1. Turn the printer power OFF.2. Hold down the Back and Information buttons simultaneously and turn theprinter back ON.3. Continue to hold the buttons until the following mesage is displayed on the frontpanel: Service Diagnostics V#.##, Initializing..., and then release thebuttons.4. The front panel displays the Service Diagnostics Menu.You can print a Service Diagnostics Menu Map by highlighting Print ServiceMenu Map, and press OK. The printer will run through POST and return to Ready.You will need to re-enter service diagnostics.
